M.Sc. Scholarship Program Phd Computer Science in Soil Science,Uganda

AGRA is pleased to call for applications for 2011 grant under the program announced cellar health training. The program focuses on the potential of talent and leadership of young professionals who want to use the transform agriculture in Africa. Women are especially encouraged to apply.
The purpose of the program is to help build capacity for agricultural development by supporting the training of about 120 MSc and 50 PhD students in integrated soil fertility (GIFs) in nine universities in sub-Saharan Africa. Students from 13 countries AGRA-emphasis of the program are that: Tanzania, Mozambique, Ghana, Mali, Malawi, Rwanda, Zambia, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso and Niger.

The universities that will offer PhD training are:

    • Sokoine University of Agriculture, Morogoro, Tanzania – will take students from the eight East and Southern Africa region

    • Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana – will offer PhD training to students from five countries in the West Africa region

The following 7 universities offer MSc training:

    • Makerere University (Uganda)

    • Kenyatta University (Kenya)

    • Haramaya University (Ethiopia)

    • Bunda College of Agriculture (Malawi)

    • University of Zambia (Zambia)

    • University of Nairobi (Kenya)

    • Bobo-Dioulasso University (Burkina Faso)

The training programs also include strengthening the facilities at the universities (laboratories and teaching facilities including curriculum) so that they can offer the best training possible in Africa in soil health and produce a new generation of 21st century soil scientists and agronomists.

2011- Indonesian Phd Computer Science Arts and Culture Scholarship Programme, Indonesia


The Indonesian Arts and Culture Scholarship has been conducted since 2003 and was initially offered to and participated by member countries of the South West Pacific Dialogue (SwPD); Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Timor-Leste, and the host Indonesia.

Bearing in mind the significance and advantages obtained from the program, the offer was expanded over the years to include member countries of ASEAN, ASEAN+3, and PIF, as well as India and South Africa. In 2008, Indonesia welcomed the participation of Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Since 2009, Austria has joined the program and in 2010 the Government of Indonesia has given the opportunity for participants from France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain and Suriname. This year, Indonesia will invite participant from Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Turkey to join the program.
The scholarship covers:
1.Tuition fee (including extra-curricular activities);
2.A round trip economy class ticket;
3.Accommodation (board and lodging);
4.Health insurance;
5.Monthly allowance of Rp. 1.500.000,

Researcher Phd Computer Science

An opportunity has arisen for a Researcher within a well-established and successful research team. The post involves working on study funded by the Health Technology Assessment programme (National Institute for Health Research): Effectiveness and Cost-Effectiveness of Body Psychotherapy in the Treatment of Negative Symptoms of Schizophrenia (NESS). The multi-centre randomised controlled trial aims to improve the treatment of negative symptoms of patients with schizophrenia through testing a novel treatment method. We are seeking to employ a Researcher who will work closely with the Principal Investigator (Prof. Stefan Priebe) and have a leading role in co-ordinating, conducting and completing the project.

Candidates should hold a first or second class upper undergraduate degree in psychology or a related social science. A higher research degree is desirable, but not essential. Candidates should have good communication and presentation skills, the ability to organise others and work in a team, and a genuine interest in exploring novel treatment methods. Knowledge of mental health services and experience of mental health research are desirable.

The post is full time and fixed term for 3 Years and 9 months starting in May 2011 (or as soon as possible thereafter). Starting salary will be in the range of £28,025 - £30,350 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, final salary pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

The postholder will be based at the Unit for Social and Community Psychiatry, Centre for Psychiatry, Queen Mary University of London which is located within the Newham Centre for Mental Health part of East London NHS Foundation Trust.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
